Mohammad Asif To Act In Malayalam Movie

Pakistani cricket fast bowler Mohammad Asif will soon be seen in a Malayalam film directed by debutant director and famous lyricist Kaithapram Damodaran Namboodiri. The movie ‘Mazhavillinnattamvare’ will be launched in September this year.

Asif will be in Kannur during September to work in the film. Asif plays a cricket coach who comes to Kannur from Lahore with a personal aim.

Kaithpram has written the story of the film and will also handle the songs. Initial reports say the film will have five regular songs and a ghazal. Udit Narayan, K.S. Chitra, Deepankuran, Sankar Mahadevan, K. J. Yesudas, and Shreya Ghoshal would sing the songs.

A Sharjah-based businessman M. Mukundan produces this film under the banner Valluvankadavu Recreations.

Mohanlal - Rafi Mecartin Team In "China Town"

After the multi-starrer movie 'Christian Brothers', expected to reach the theatres in another two months, Superstar Mohanlal plans to start another multi-starrer in a short while. Titled as ‘China Town’ this movie will be directed by Rafi-Mecartin.

An action thriller unlike the duo's earlier movies, 'China Town' will also feature Jayaram and Dileep in Key roles. While Kavya Madhavan will be one of the heroines of the movie, the other two heroines are yet to be finalised. The film will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinema. The movie will be shoot at Goa, Pondicherry and Cochin. Mohanlal's distribution firm Max Lab will distribute this movie which is expected to release in next Vishu.

Na. Muthukumar has penned lyrics for a song that is based on Raktham (Blood) and former journalist Gnyanavel has written dialogues for the Tamil version.

The film’s post production works are close on the heels of completion and will hit screens simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu by August.

The much awaiting Rajini film is being ready for release. Shankar's Rs. 200 crore film Endhiran's shooting has been completed. The shooting of the last song scene was completed last day. The film produced by Sun Pictures took nearly 3 years for completion.The releasing date will be either September 5 or August 15. The story is about a robot having human look. Rajinikanth plays dual roles in the film that is of a scientist and robot.

It will be the Indian origin film that has the largest investment. The first budget of the film was around Rs. 129 crore . But after the first schedule in Brazil the budget was raised to Rs. 150 crore. The crew members behind the film are from hollywood which eventually raised the budget. Now it is estimated to around Rs. 200 crore . The hit maker of tamil Shankar, A.R Rahman, Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai, Rasool Pookutty, Saabu ciril,Rathnaveelu combines in this film.

The actress , Aishwarya Rai itself claimed Rs. 6 crore for the film which is the highest by any Indian actress. The Audio Release of the film be held on 31'st july at Kuala lumpur,Malaysia. Audio rights where given at Rs. 8 crore. choreography is done by Pabhu Dev,Lorenz and Raju Sundharam. the action will be competable with that of Hollywood.Action is done by Peter Hein. 2000 prints will be released throughout India. It will also released around 300 centers outside India including China and Bangladesh.

Following the recent hits ‘Raavanan’ and ‘Pokkiri Raja’, young superstar Prithviraj seems to be in his best of times, as he has been invited to play historical characters in two new films.

Prithviraj and Genelia in Santosh Sivan's Urumi

Cameraman Santosh Sivan who has been getting congratulated for his brilliant work in Raavanan, is now all set to do a film in Malayalam and Tamil, titled Urumi.It will also be dubbed in english.

It is a casting coup for Santhosh as he has brought together India’s most valued brand Genelia and the fastest rising star Prithviraj together. Santosh’s last directorial ventures in English Beyond the Rains and Tahaan in Hindi have been critically acclaimed and were also marketing success.

Urumi is a period film with Prithviraj and Genelia in the lead while the rest of the cast is being finalised. 'Urumi' is an 8 ft long flexible sword used in Kalari fights, a martial art of Kerala.

Urumi is about a group of men who wanted to assassinate Vasco Da Gama, the Portuguese explorer, who set foot in Kappad in Calicut in 1498. The film will have an English subtitle- “Who Killed Vasco De Gama?” Genelia will play a Portuguese princess while Prithviraj will be the leader of the gang who wants to kill Vasco De Gama.It will be the first film produced by prithviraj.

CBI Diarykurippu Fifth Part In Discussion

There are unconfirmed reports that the fifth part of the CBI Diarykurippu series is being planned by the director K Madhu and writer S N Swami. The film would be produced by Madhu's own production company, Krishnakripa Films.

It is rumoured that S N Swami has started working on this project. There has been no other film in which the entire crew including the actor, director and the writer have joined hands for five parts of a film. So the fifth part of the film is expected to set a record.

Malyalam Movie Kandahar | News,Pics And Gallery

The film Kandahar directed by Major Ravi is based on the 1999 plane hijack.Kandahar will be the first film featuring Amitabh Bachchan.Second shedule of the shooting has been commenced at Ooty after the completion of first phase at Dehradun.

Amitabh Bachchan plays the character 'Loknath Sharma',father of an young man who was in the hijacked plane.Mohanlal comes as Commando Major Mahadevan and plays the leading character.

Amitabh Bachchan was keen in taking all shots as perfect. Kannada actress Ragini Divedi is the heroein. New commer Venktaraghavan plays the role of Amitabh's son. Apart from them Anil Murali,Mammukoya,K P S C Lalitha,Kannan Pattambi,Jaffer Idukki are other casts in the movie.

The shooting at Ooty completed today and is to be shifted to Dehradun and then to Mumbai.The film Kabdahar is expected to release on first week of December.

Rathinirvedam To Be Remade By T. K Rajiv Kumar

Rathi Nirvedam that was released in 1978 in the banner of Supria and which was directed by Bharathan and wriiten by Padmarajan is to be remade in Malayalam.The name will remain same.

There will be only small difference from the old one in which Jayabharati and Krishnachandran played the leading roles. The character played by Krishnachandran will be a more mature character in the remake.The leading role will be played by new faces.

Aamir Khan joins Twitter

After much insist from megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Bollywood actor-producer Aamir Khan has finally decided to join micro-blogging website Twitter .

"Aamir is on Twitter from July 1. He was not on Twitter till now because he thought he won't be able to give enough time to it. But since Mr.Bachchan insisted on him joining it, he gave it another thought and has decided to join it. He cannot say no to Mr.Bachchan," said a source close to the actor.

Aamir met Amitabh and his actress-politician wife Jaya over a casual dinner in London last week and Amitabh started persuading him to join the site. He even taught him how to send Tweets through his phone.

The actor's username on Twitter is aamir_khan.

At present he is having 21,285 followers.

Bhasuram | Mohanlal's Upcoming Movie

Mohanlal's coming movie with the hit director of 'Yoddha' named Bhasuram. Sangeeth Sivan already has made impressive thrillers in the late nineties and had been more engaged with his Bollywood movies in recent times, now he comes back to malayalam with new movie Bhasuram. But the news was not confirmed officially by sources close to Mohanlal.

The director, Sangeeth Sivan who was well appreciated for his works like'Yoddha’, ‘Nirnayam’ and ‘Vyooham’, was not seen in Mollywood these days as he was busy creating hits like 'Apna Sapna Money Money’, and 'Kya Kool Hai Hum' in Hindi. The director will once again return to Malayalam, with his favorite star Mohanlal for the new movie titled as 'Bhasuram'.

The Malayalam movie Bhasuram to be scripted by Sangeeth Sivan will have the cinematography done by his brother and cinematographer-director Santhosh Sivan. As expected, this movie will also be a thriller and will cast a leading Tamil actress (sources says Thamannah) as the heroine.

The Colombian pop singer Shakira who gained a lot of fans in India through the FIFA World Cup official song ' Waka Waka ' and  the inagural  function of FIFA World Cup 2010 hosted by South Africa.
